The final framework handles the professional responsibilities of the teacher. This framework covers reflecting on teaching, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families, participating in the professional community, growing and developing professionally, and showing professionalism.
At my internship placement, each month teachers receive two postcards. These are to write short notes home to guardians about the work and progress of two specific students. I loved using these as an opportunity to ensure parents were getting positive feedback and experiences in their interaction with me and in relation to their child's work in school. I wrote notes to guardians of students who I knew struggled with behavior and desired grades to be sure they knew the positive actions and decisions I saw from their student.

In response to both my desire to bring more parent awareness and parental desire to know more of what was going on in the classroom, I designed a weekly newsletter I emailed out to parents. I have included to the left a copy of my first one. These newsletters were done in both English and Spanish to best serve our Hispanic population. I included weekly assignments, the learning target and success criteria for the week, information on the weekly unit, and suggestions for what parents could do to support the lesson and get involved at home. I received positive feedback from this and had parents compliment on the content, organization, and the benefit it provided for family dinner discussions.

As part of the school's professional development and teacher observations, the Pineapple Observation method was adapted. Teachers selected periods and lessons to welcome others into their classroom to observe in an informal setting. Attached is a picture of the reflection form completed at the end of the week.
